South End School – 2025 Grocery Grab

Terms and Conditions
- The Grocery Grab (“Grab”) will be completed at New World Carterton on Wednesday 26th November 2025 at 6.45am.
- Tickets for the Grab will be sold at $5 per ticket.
- Winners to meet the owners of New World Carterton and staff for a debrief prior to the Grab that morning.
- The Fundraiser will START Monday 20th October and FINISH Wednesday 19th November 2025.
- Winners will be announced publicly on Thursday 20th November on the South End School Facebook page and winner notified via phone call. If we cannot get hold of the winner by 3pm Friday 21st November 2025, a replacement winner will be contacted.
- Two people of the winner’s choice will take part in the Grab, one trolley Pusher, one Grabber.
- The trolley Pusher can only push the trolley; there is to be no grabbing from the trolley Pusher.
- Start line will be at the front entrance near the produce.
- Items must be individually picked and CANNOT be strong-armed.
- Maximum limit of two of any of the same sort of product (e.g. maximum of two bags of potatoes, two toothbrushes or two lamb leg roasts). This will be checked upon arrival at check out, any items will be removed if they go above the limit.
- Lotto, instant kiwi, tobacco, gift voucher products are excluded, regardless of the age of the winner.
- Alcohol will be permitted up to the maximum value of $100 within the Prize limit. If the participants look under 25 standard ID checks will be in place and Alcohol will not be permitted if either of the two participants are under 18 years of age.
- Extra trolleys will be placed at the end of the aisles for the Grabber and Pusher to use as required, but not necessary.
- All entries, spare tickets and money are to be returned to South End School Carterton Office no later than 19th November.
- Tickets for school families will be sold via the school office. They will initially be available in packs of 8 for pick up from the school office, with further tickets packs available for selling once payment is received for outstanding ticket packs. The school office times are Mon-Fri 8.30-3.30pm
- Tickets will also be sold outside of Carterton New World and at other retail venues and fundraiser events.
- A maximum of 4,000 tickets
- The winner will be drawn via an online random number generator.
- The winner will be drawn in the presence of a New Zealand Police Officer.
- Video footage of the Grab will be used for promotional material including social media, school website and school Facebook page so the winners must agree to this happening or ensure those who are doing the grab are also happy with this.
- Direct members from the PTA fundraising group are unable to purchase tickets or participate in the Grab.
- Family members of the PTA fundraising group, school employees and families can purchase tickets and participate in the Grab.
- Participants must follow all safety instructions from New World Carterton staff. Unsafe behaviour (e.g., running into people, climbing shelves) may result in immediate disqualification.
- The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash. If the winner cannot attend on the day and time of the Grab, the prize will be forfeited, and a replacement winner may be drawn.
- South End School and New World Carterton are not liable for any personal injury, loss or damage to property sustained during the Grab.
- All items collected must be available for purchase at New World Carterton at the time of the Grab.
- Perishable and frozen items must be taken immediately after the event.
- Entry details will be used only for the purpose of administering this raffle and contacting winners. By purchasing a ticket, entrants agree to these Terms and Conditions.
- Prizes are as follows:
- 1st Place – 120 second grocery grab up to the Maximum value of $1,000
- 2nd Place – 90 second grocery grab up to the Maximum value of $500
- 3rd Place – 60 second grocery grab up to the Maximum value of $300
Should the full dollar ($) value of the prize not be spent in the time allocated, the prize will be the lesser value of groceries obtained in the Grab.
- There will be an additional prize for the student who sells the most tickets with a $50 New World voucher awarded.
